Lizzie's Barn is not only a rescue but is also a Sanctuary. Dogs that can be rehomed go to their new owners as soon as they can be found, but for a few that isn't possible. That may be due to a chronic medical condition that will require constant care or due to behavioural problems possibly caused by previous ill-treatment. Whatever the reason, if they cannot be rehomed they will stay at Lizzie's Barn to be taken care of for the rest of their lives.
New veterinary treatments can sometimes transform the lives of unwell dogs but some treatments are very expensive and may be required regularly throughout their lives. We think our dogs deserve the best.
