SPECIAL DOGS

WHITNEY

A 3 year old English Bull Terrier cross Staffy who is deaf.

Whitney is very friendly and affectionate to all, & love's everyone big or small, She is great with other dogs but does tend to greet them at 100mph which can be alarming! She lives happily with the other dogs at the Barn. Due to her enthusiastic greetings, it is safe to assume that Whitney would be too much for a 'cat unless it is a Tiger!" Whitney seems to be housetrained.

Typically for a bully, Whitney likes to sleep under her duvet and would prefer to stay indoors unless it's really warm outside! She travels well in my van, unless crated- this causes her enormous stress & wears a doggy seatbelt harness.

We have twice tried to rehome Whitney, but she becomes extreemly distressed, barking continuously, pants so hard she almost hyperventilates & cries pitifully, refusing to eat or sleep. She lasted in her first home for a day, her second 3 days. Causing great distress to her prospective families too.

Immediately on being returned she settles, is calm & content. Obviously we cant keep putting her through this level of stress and we think Whitney has decided she wants to stay at the barn. Maybe one day someone will come along who can build a relationship with Whitney over a  few weeks, or months, & eventually move her into their home.

But in the meantime if you would like to help Whitney by sponsoring her, please contact us at; lizziesbarn@googlemail.com

Sherlock

Sherlock is a small crossbreed boy of about 3 years.

Sherlock is looking for a very special, patient home with people who will respect the fact that he needs time to settle and to do things at his own pace, without expecting too much of him too quickly.

He would love to live with another dog who is already in residence. He was initially handed in to rescue after living on the streets with a greyhound companion.

Sherlock is very affectionate once he gets to know you, but it does take him a little while to bond.

He would be best not homed with children and he is totally unknown with cats - although probably the only experience that he has of them is chasing them whilst living on the streets.

Sherlock is a very companionable chap, but wouldn't want to be a lap dog or teddy bear. He would much rather sit beside you on the arm of the chair to watch the tv, rather than on your lap.

All potential adopters will be homevetted and be expected to travel to Kidwelly, S.Wales to meet/adopt Sherlock.

If you are interested in Sherlock, please send your enquiries, telling us all about yourselves and the lifestyle you are offering to
rehoming.lizziesbarn@googlemail.com  & we will send you our rehoming questionnaire.
